R.E.P.O. v0.5.0 Sunstone Update Adds New Map, Pony Enemy, Gamepad Support

The developers of R.E.P.O. pushed out version 0.5.0 on 29 October 2026, called the Sunstone Update. It’s the fourth major update for the game and it brings a new map, a new enemy, gamepad support and a big batch of balance changes and bug fixes.
The headline addition is Sunstone Valley Resort, a brand new map to explore. Alongside it there’s a new enemy named Pony. The update also adds full gamepad support and localization in 21 languages, so the game is now playable and readable in a lot more setups than before.
New rooms, items and cosmetics
Several existing locations got expanded. Headman Manor gets 5 new rooms, Swiftbroom Academy gets 4, Museum of Human Art gets 4, and McJannek Station gets 5. Three new items join the game: the Human Gun, the Human Adventure Cable and the Recharge Orb. Ten new cosmetics were also added, and there’s now a mirror next to the Cosmetic Machine in the shop so you can check yourself out.
The shop itself got a couple of quality of life additions. The map now shows a shopping list of what’s currently sitting at the extraction point while you’re browsing, and showing items to the shopkeeper can now get you a discount, though there’s also a chance they destroy the item instead. There’s also a new expression wheel with mouse and gamepad support, and an adjustable grab lead setting for both control schemes.
Changes and balancing
Climbing and swinging on Tumble Climb got reworked with smoother camera follow, and level loading should freeze less often, with microphone input now staying active between levels. Melee weapons and guns got smoothing fixes to reduce rotation overshoot, vehicle grabbing now defaults to a toggle, and staffs need to be lowered between casts.
On the balance side, several Manor and Museum valuables had their weight or value adjusted, Elsa generates less overcharge in small form, and a previously impossible Arena Racing track piece got fixed. If a level doesn’t have enough valuables left to hit the extraction goal, smaller valuables will now spawn nearby so runs don’t get stuck.
Fixes worth knowing about
The fix list covers a lot of ground: enemies getting stuck in odd states, Defibro revival edge cases, Pocket C.A.R.T. not breaking in pits, battery charge transfer issues, and extraction point money display bugs. Save files that could get corrupted from opening the game multiple times at once are also fixed.
What this means if you use mods
One fix in this patch directly touches mods: modded clients could previously join a lobby without showing up on the player list, and that’s now fixed. If you run any client-side mods for R.E.P.O., check whether they still load properly on 0.5.0 before jumping into a session, since a patch this size can break compatibility with tools that weren’t built for it. It’s generally a good idea to back up your save files before updating too, especially with multiple fixes in this patch touching how saves are handled.
