October was the month ModsDrop stopped being a quiet file store. Downloads per day roughly quadrupled between the first week and the fourth, half of today’s library arrived during the month, and the files went to 141 countries. Here are the numbers for 1 to 24 October 2026, from the site’s own records, and what they say about who uses a mod site and what they download.

Downloads

14,536 counted downloads of 1,882 different files between 1 and 24 October, the last day still running when we counted. A counted download is one that went through a file page and passed the checks that exclude robots and an uploader’s own downloads; repeated requests for the same file from the same visitor are not counted again straight away.

Period Downloads
1–7 October 2,838
8–14 October 3,412
15–21 October 4,856
22–24 October (three days) 3,430

The first day of the month brought 289 downloads. The first day above a thousand was 21 October, with 1,039, and the best so far is 23 October, with 1,216.

Where the downloads went

141 countries. The twelve largest:

Country Downloads Share
United States 2,355 16%
France 1,241 9%
Germany 910 6%
Hungary 855 6%
United Kingdom 650 4%
Poland 563 4%
Turkey 476 3%
Brazil 364 3%
Canada 343 2%
Romania 312 2%
Italy 302 2%
Spain 295 2%

The twelve together account for 60% of all downloads; the other 129 countries share the remaining 40%. The United States leads, as it does on any English-language games site. France in second place is new: the French edition of crashmods.com, where many of these files are linked from, opened on 20 October. Hungary is where the site is run from, and it has an unusually large modding audience for its size.

Eight of the twelve are in the EEA or the United Kingdom, and together they supply 35% of all downloads. That matters for how the site pays for itself: in Europe no advert loads until the visitor agrees to the cookie question, so a large share of these downloads earns nothing at all. It is also why the uploaders’ share is split by downloads weighted by country, as the earnings explainer sets out.

The library

On 24 October ModsDrop held 5,928 files, 614 GB in all, from 17 uploader accounts. 2,950 of those files, half the library, were published in October.

File size Files Share
Under 50 MB 3,398 57%
50–250 MB 1,906 32%
250 MB–1 GB 580 10%
Over 1 GB 43 under 1%

The big files get the attention, but most mods are small: skins, config packs, sound packs, single cars with sensible textures. Why mod files are so big explains what makes the other 10% heavy.

5,782 files carry a clean VirusTotal result on their page. 121 are too large for VirusTotal to accept, and their pages say so; a handful were still in the scanning queue when we counted.

What people downloaded

The fifteen most downloaded files of the month, as of the morning of 24 October. Every one is a BeamNG.drive mod.

# File Downloads Size
1 Improved Dyno Free 246 11 MB
2 Tesla Model 3 [PACK] 244 30 MB
3 BMW M3 E46 203 694 MB
4 Bicycle 179 138 MB
5 Honda Civic EG6 – Drag Builds 166 272 MB
6 BMW M5 E60/61 (G Power) 135 451 MB
7 Toyota Supra A80 (MK4) 131 297 MB
8 Lamborghini Urus 129 262 MB
9 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk 124 815 MB
10 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 2027 122 78 MB
11 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W206 112 82 MB
12 Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra GMT900 111 377 MB
13 BMW M4 F82 2015–2020 105 631 MB
14 Ferrari 296 – Scintilla-Based Convertible 92 434 MB
15 BMW M4 G82/G83 LCI 85 150 MB

The most downloaded file of the month is 11 MB, the second 30 MB. Four of the fifteen are under 100 MB. Small, useful files that finish on any connection keep beating large showpieces, which is the most practical lesson in this whole report for anyone who uploads.

What comes next

Truck-sim files only started arriving in the last week of the month, and the first batch is still in single and double digits. Farming Simulator 25’s Beans & Alpacas expansion lands on 27 October. November’s report, in early December, will show whether BeamNG keeps every place in the top fifteen.
