R.E.P.O. v0.5.1 Patches Gamepad, Localization and Arena Race Bugs

R.E.P.O. got a small update on 5 November 2026, patching up its latest content update rather than adding anything major. The developer calls it v0.5.1, and it’s mostly keybind options, gamepad support and a batch of bug fixes.
Keybinds and gamepad get more flexible
Players can now unbind optional keys like chat, expressions and voice chat, something that wasn’t possible before. Gamepad users get new bindings for chat, push-to-talk and toggle mute, plus text input support for chat and a rotation sensitivity setting. Maximum aim sensitivity on gamepad has also gone up.
Enemy and item tweaks
The Enemy Pony’s riding position has been adjusted and it no longer collides with whoever is riding it. Two in-game items changed too: the Valuable Manor Coffin is now slightly smaller, and the Upgraded Cube of Knowledge is heavier in its final form, talks more often, and pulls in enemies from a greater distance.
A long list of fixes
Most of v0.5.1 is cleanup work. Highlights include:
- Tumble Wings no longer deactivate if you scrape the ground right after using them.
- Expression Wheel portraits stopped copying the player’s leaning or tilted pose.
- Melee Grab Lead is no longer turned on by default for mouse and keyboard.
- Clients can no longer grab breakable floors.
- Spectate camera no longer falls through the floor, and switches properly when the spectated player disconnects.
- Steam Profile button selection no longer gets stuck after you open a profile.
- Menus stay responsive after disconnecting with chat open, and WASD no longer fights with avatar rotation in the cosmetic and pause menus.
- Custom translations now apply regardless of the set language, not just English.
- TTS can be heard again while muted or using push-to-talk.
- Arena Race had two soft-locks fixed, and vehicle movement at high speed is smoother thanks to better network prediction.
- Equipped items no longer spawn in the truck if you leave the shop mid-extraction.
- The Halloween Truck’s furthest forest backdrop now moves with the truck, and sky, fog and lighting issues there are fixed.
- Various room issues on levels got fixed, along with stuttering some players had when grabbing objects.
What this means for mods
R.E.P.O. has an active community modding scene, and any update that touches core systems like keybinding, UI, localization or level rooms can throw off mods that hook into those same areas. Nothing in this announcement singles out mod compatibility, but it’s generally a good idea to hold off updating mods that touch menus, keybinds or levels until their authors confirm they still work with v0.5.1. Back up your mod folder and save files before patching, just in case something that worked under the previous version behaves differently now.
