Rainbow Six Siege Community Checkpoint #6 Covers Ranked, Balance and Testing Grounds Plans

Ubisoft published its sixth Community Checkpoint for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege on 2 November 2026, covering the Y11S3.3 update and what’s planned for Y11S4. The post walks through the new Legend Division, changes to Ranked maps, operator balancing, the Testing Grounds program and a handful of returning playlists.
Legend Division and Ranked map pool
The Legend Division is a permanent solo queue playlist that launched with the mid-season update. It’s meant for top-tier Champion players only. To join you need Champion rank, a Clearance Level of 200 or higher, Platinum or above in the previous season, Reputation Standing level three or higher, plus Secure Boot and 2-Step Account Verification through the R6 Shieldguard Secure Platform. The devs said they’ll watch feedback closely to make sure the playlist stays worth the investment for the players in it.
Starting next season, seasonal Ranked map rotations are going away. Ubisoft said the rotations rarely felt like real new content and often just annoyed people when a liked map got swapped out. Instead, Ranked will move to a fixed pool of around 15 maps, including the nine currently used in Pro competition.
Operator and gameplay balancing
Operation Split Fire’s mid-season patch adjusted several operators. Noor’s Horus Lance Launcher drills faster, equips faster, deals more direct impact damage, and now hits shield operators during their removal animation. Tachanka’s Shumika Launcher gained a switch between Impact and Bounce modes. Snake’s Soliton Radar MK III now carries three precision charges instead of four, Valkyrie picked up the Glaive-12 as a secondary, Capitao’s fire expansion delay dropped slightly, Clash’s slowdown on fleeing enemies went up to 10 percent, and OSA’s deployment space shrank in several directions. Fire damage itself rose to 14 HP, affecting Tachanka, Goyo, Capitao, Dokkaebi, Noor and gas pipes. Barbed Wire now fully stops the BU-GI OF RAM, and the team confirmed a nerf to the TCSG is coming in Y11S4 after player feedback.
The 3.3 update brings smaller tweaks to Denari, Jackal and the Commando, but Ubisoft said this will be the last update of that size for a mid-cycle patch. Going forward, the smaller .1 and .3 patches will carry fewer but more noticeable changes, while season launch and mid-season updates stay bigger. Mira and Zofia are being prototyped for quality-of-life and balance work, though nothing is locked in yet.
Testing Grounds and returning modes
A new Testing Grounds event lands in Y11S4, testing Half Reinforcements, a feature meant to open up new defensive setups and site strategies. Ubisoft is asking players to fill out the in-game QR survey during that event so feedback can shape the feature before it potentially enters the live game. After Half Reinforcements, the next Testing Grounds will trial a reworked Hostage mode, built with input already gathered from players and content creators.
There’s a longer-term goal to bring Hostage back into competitive play depending on how that Testing Grounds session goes. More immediately, Hostage and Secure Area return to Quick Match’s regular rotation starting Y11S4, since both modes have seen less traffic and less development attention than Bomb. The 3v3 Arcade mode from Operation Split Fire is also coming back in Y11S4 after proving to be one of the more popular limited-time modes.
What this means for players
Siege runs with Secure Boot and account verification tied to the Legend Division, and the game doesn’t have a community modding scene the way sandbox or simulation titles do, so none of this affects installed files or add-ons. In practical terms, Ranked players should expect to learn a stable map pool instead of seasonal rotations, and anyone grinding toward Champion should check the Legend Division requirements now if they want in. Operator mains for Noor, Tachanka, Snake, Valkyrie, Capitao, Clash or OSA will feel the balance shifts immediately in Y11S3.3, and TCSG users should expect a nerf next season. If you play casual modes, Hostage and Secure Area are worth revisiting in Quick Match once Y11S4 starts, and the 3v3 Arcade mode will be back as well.
