HELLDIVERS 2 Patch 7.2.2 Fixes Stratagem Armor Penetration Info and Bushwacker Damage

Arrowhead dropped patch 7.2.2 for HELLDIVERS 2 on 29 October 2026, and it is mostly a cleanup pass on numbers that were not behaving the way the developer intended. Two stratagem weapons get touched, a damage error from the last patch gets corrected, and a couple of crash bugs are gone.

Stratagem weapon adjustments

One support weapon was underperforming compared to the Anti-Materiel Rifle and the Autocannon. It could not break through covers or container doors the way those two weapons can, even though it sits in the same power bracket. Its caliber was also set too high, which made damage fall off too fast at range and hurt it as a sniping option. On top of that, the armory listed the wrong armor penetration value, so players picking loadouts did not actually know what the weapon could punch through.

Arrowhead lowered the caliber from 60 to 20, raised demolition strength to 30, and fixed the armory entry so it now correctly reads “Anti-Tank”. The lower caliber should flatten the damage curve at long range, and the demolition bump means it can now wreck the same obstacles the Anti-Materiel Rifle and Autocannon already handle.

A second stratagem weapon had the same kind of display problem. Its armor penetration tooltip was wrong, which led players to misjudge what targets it could actually deal with. That entry has also been corrected to show “Anti-Tank” properly in the armory.

Bushwacker damage correction

The previous patch changed the Bushwacker’s numbers, but the math behind those changes was off. Damage goes from 405 to 486, and durable damage climbs from 108 to 135. This is strictly a fix to bring the weapon to where the earlier patch notes said it should land, not a new buff on top of that.

Stability fixes

Outside of weapon balance, 7.2.2 patches a rare renderer crash that could hit PC and Xbox players, along with an equally rare crash on boot. Two music tracks were also pulled from the game; Arrowhead says this has no effect on gameplay.

What this means for mod users

HELLDIVERS 2 has a modding community built around things like cosmetic swaps and quality of life tweaks, even though it is not officially supported and the game runs with anti-cheat in multiplayer. Any patch that touches game files, even a small balance and crash fix update like 7.2.2, can knock loose mods that reference weapon stats, UI text or armory data out of sync with the new numbers. If you run cosmetic or stat-display mods tied to the affected stratagem weapons or the Bushwacker, check for an update from the mod author before loading back in. As always, back up your mod folder before applying a patch, and if something looks off after updating, pull mods one at a time to find the culprit rather than guessing.
