HELLDIVERS 2 Adds Poisonous Noxious Terminids and More Bug Caves

Super Earth has confirmed a new Terminid threat crawling onto the front lines. The Ministry of Truth calls it the Noxious strain, and alongside it, Terminid cave networks are now showing up under more biomes across the galaxy, from deserts to frozen worlds.
Two new bugs to watch for
The Noxious Scavenger looks like a regular Scavenger at first, but it moves faster and bites with a venomous payload, then bites again almost right away. It is still fragile, so shotguns, flamethrowers, and grenades will drop it fast. Rationing ammo over antivenom is the idea here.
The bigger threat is the Noxious Spewer. Unlike older Spewers, it moves quickly and leaves webbing across the battlefield. At medium range it fires a Web Spit that kills your sprint, setting you up for its bite, which has surprising reach and a heavier dose of venom. Its head carries medium armor, but the web-filled abdomen is unarmored. Pop that sac and you get a Web Explosion that snares everyone nearby, bugs included, so don’t stand close when it goes off.
Poison is now a real status to manage
Every Noxious bite poisons you, and there’s a new icon on the HUD to track it. Light poisoning blurs your vision and chips away at health over time. Heavy poisoning adds faster damage, kills your ability to sprint, and can put you down for good. Stims cure the condition, so think twice before using your last one on yourself when a poisoned squadmate might need it more to finish the objective.
Caves are spreading, and that changes loadouts
Bug caves used to be tied to a handful of worlds. Now they have a chance to appear on more biomes across the galactic map, which means more missions could drop you into tight tunnels with short sightlines and blind corners. Those conditions favor fast enemies like the new Noxious bugs, since you’ll often hear them too late.
In practice this means rethinking what you bring into a bug drop. Close-range weapons matter more now that caves aren’t a rare occurrence, and keeping your squad tight becomes more important when a Spewer’s web explosion can trap several Helldivers at once. Holding a stim in reserve for teammates who push ahead solo is a habit worth building, since outrunning poison on your own isn’t really an option once you’re hit twice.
There’s no mention of separate patch files or anything players manage outside the game itself, this is a content update delivered through the normal game client. Nothing here affects how the game installs or runs, it just changes what you’ll face underground and how fast a bug encounter can turn against you.
