Deadlock just kicked off its Halloween event for 2026, and it comes bundled with a sizable gameplay update that reworks how the Mid-Boss fight plays out and tweaks a long list of items and heroes. The seasonal stuff runs from today, October 30, through November 2, 2026.

The Hideout gets decorated for the holiday, heroes get Halloween masks, and the streets of The Cursed Apple are now scattered with pumpkins. The real addition is the Halloween Cauldrons: bubbling pots placed around Manhattan that you break with a Heavy Melee to get Candy. Eat the candy whenever you want and you get a temporary Sugar Rush buff.

Mid-Boss Fight Got Reworked

The Mid-Boss area is bigger now with more cover, and the boss itself got a 20% health increase along with 20% more health gained per minute. Resistance reduction effects only work at half strength against it, and its roar now triggers at 25% HP instead of 50%. Its bounty dropped from 3000 (+50/min) to 1500 (+25/min), which lowers the payout for securing the kill.

The Rejuvenator reward changed too. Instead of one crystal in the center of the pit, killing the Mid-Boss now drops three crystals spread around the area. Each one takes a single heavy melee to break, grants a full heal on every hit, and gives the breaking player a bounty of 500 (+9/min). Crystal drop time went from 6 to 7.5 seconds.

Comeback Mechanics and Economy

Haunted Souls now secure 25% slower as a baseline, but teams behind in Net Worth can secure up to 50% faster than that baseline, maxing out at a 20% gap. Comeback gold from non-hero sources went up to a max of 30% when behind by roughly 20% Net Worth, and the bonus NPC souls multiplier for trailing teams now also boosts tick souls for the two poorest players on the team. Healing Snacks now heal 14% of Max HP instead of 10%, and Steam Vents give 150% more stamina regen.

Item and Hero Tuning

A long list of items shifted this patch. Shadow Weave lost its Ambush Fire Rate and Melee Damage but gained +50% Ambush Weapon Damage that builds up over 6 seconds of stealth. Healbane now stacks with diminishing returns across multiple sources instead of not stacking at all. On the hero side, Mirage’s Traveler ability got reworked with new cooldown behavior and a minimap targeting reticle visible to allies, while Nurse Harrow’s base gun damage dropped by 10%. The latest six heroes also lost their “new” status, meaning they now follow normal ranked unlock rules and can be banned.

What This Means in Practice

If you play ranked, expect the hero ban and pick pool to shift now that the six newest heroes are fully in rotation. Mid-Boss fights will take longer and pay out less per kill directly, though the split Rejuvenator crystals mean more total healing and bounty opportunities spread across the fight. The Halloween content is temporary, so grab Candy and enjoy the Sugar Rush buff before the event ends on November 2.

Based on the developer's announcement on Steam, 30 October 2026.
