How to download

A download from ModsDrop is two clicks and no detours. There is nothing to install, nothing to sign up for, and no page that pretends to be the download button.

Step 1 — open the file page

A mod page sends you to an address that looks like modsdrop.com/f/abcd1234/. That page shows the file name, its size, when it was uploaded, how many times it has been downloaded, and the result of its virus scan. Read that before you click anything: if the scan says something other than clean, the page says so plainly.

Step 2 — press Download

The orange Download button starts a short countdown and then the file begins. It comes straight from our storage in Germany, so the speed is whatever your own line can take.

The link the button hands you is personal and stops working after six hours. That is why you should share the file page, never the download link itself — a copied link will be dead for whoever you send it to.

If the download stops halfway

Downloads are resumable. If your connection drops during a multi-gigabyte mod, your browser or download manager can pick it up where it left off. If the link has expired by then, open the file page again and press Download once more.

Common problems

Is it safe?

Files are scanned with VirusTotal, which runs 60+ antivirus engines, and the file page always shows the result. Files above VirusTotal’s 650 MB limit cannot be scanned there, and their page says exactly that rather than pretending otherwise. Mods are code: install them from sources you trust, and keep a backup of your save files.

Something wrong with a file?

Every file page has a Report this file link. Use it for a broken file, for malware, or if the file is your work and you did not agree to it being shared. Copyright and malware reports are dealt with first — see the Copyright and content complaints page.
